CINCINNATI — Luke Fickell isn't going far to fill his vacant offensive coordinator role. According to Bearcat Journal, quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli is now UC's offensive coordinator.

Guidugli was the obvious candidate to replace Mike Denbrock after he joined Brian Kelly's staff at LSU. Guidugli is a stalwart in the Bearcats program. He set all-time marks as a quarterback at UC in passing yards and touchdowns from 2001-04.

The new OC joined Fickell's staff in 2017 as the running backs coach and has steadily moved up the ranks ever since.

Guidugli was the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator over the past two seasons. He played an integral part in turning Desmond Ridder into the greatest UC quarterback ever and a high-end NFL Draft prospect.

As for the two roles he's leaving behind, Chad Brendel of Bearcat Journal also hinted that Arkansas State defensive line coach Walt Stewart could be added to the staff and help mold the next dominant class of Bearcats.
