CINCINNATI — The summer grassroots schedule is wrapping up around the basketball recruiting circuit, bringing out another UC offer and interest from a recently de-committed prospect. We start things off with four-star 2023 guard Parker Friedrichsen.

The sharpshooter discussed his recruitment with 247Sports, indicating that UC is on his radar for a visit after he decided not to attend Oklahoma State.

“I like the way Wes Miller has been talking to me and what he sees me as," Friedrichsen told Brandon Jenkins. "They are going to the Big 12. I like the school a lot. They have a cool campus and a cool arena.”

According to 247Sports, Friedrichsen is the 124th-ranked player nationally and the 20th-ranked shooting guard. Rivals has him slated as the 102nd-best player in the country. On3 still has Oklahoma State holding a 23.6% chance to sign him, with Nebraska right behind at 20.6%. UC has a 4% chance.

He is one of the best outside shooters in the 2023 class and would be a welcome addition to a UC team that ranked 283rd out of 358 teams in three-point percentage (31.8%) last season. The three-point artist holds 28 offers from schools like Iowa, Illinois, and Purdue.

Catch-and-shoot, off balance, on the run. It doesn't matter where you get Friedrichsen the ball—he can bang it home. The guard can get his shot in mid-range areas and anywhere inside 30 feet. Add in an unselfish mentality and quick decision-making, and it's no wonder Friedrichsen is a four-star player. Continued weight training should add to his versatility and defensive chops. Check out some highlights here.

Next, we look down the line a few years at an offer for 2025 Great Crossing (Kentucky) center Malachi Moreno.

He is not ranked in the class right now but holds four other offers from Eastern Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio State, and Purdue.

Moreno is a walking double-double whenever he touches the floor at 6-foot-11. He has sweet feet on post moves and the length to bang with all types of big men in the Big 12.

He clearly needs to put on a little weight for some of those larger matchups, but that will come, and he's performed well against high-level competition his age. You can't teach the type of soft touch Moreno displays on the offensive end.

The incoming sophomore is fresh off averaging 12.8 points & 10.2 rebounds per game (5 Games) in the 3SSBOpen event in California while playing for Indiana Elite.
