Even during a dead period, Notre Dame recruiting continues to be incredibly busy. Throughout the week, we were given a new 2025 quarterback offer and two new commitments in the 2024 recruiting class.

One of those new commitments was from Salinas (Calif.) Palma wide receiver Logan Saldate, who was a player that Notre Dame was prioritizing big time behind the scenes. The talented pass catcher got an exciting three day stretch kicked off well.

According to Saldate’s head coach Jeff Carnazzo, the talented pass catcher brings an all around skill set that can be dangerous all over the field. It’s an exciting pickup for the Irish program.

Then, of course, the weekend ended great when Notre Dame landed a commitment from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. The talented defender was by far the most important uncommitted defensive recruit left on the board.

VISIT PREVIEWS

Notre Dame is set to host a bevy of extremely talented 2025 recruits on campus for the recruiting cookout on July 30th. Among the most talented targets who will be on campus is Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange safety Ivan Taylor. This will be Taylor’s second trip to campus.

For the second time, Cleveland (Ohio) Heights defensive lineman Brandon Caesar will also be traveling back to South Bend. Caesar is excited to see more of the campus and really see the full Notre Dame experience.

RECRUITING UPDATES

Notre Dame has continued to make waves on the recruiting trail. They have made a real impact with a host or talented, and important, 2025 recruits.

One 2024 recruit who is still on the board is American Fork (Utah) High School star Davis Andrews. With Andrews’ recruitment coming to a close, Notre Dame is an outstanding spot. He will also be making the trip to campus later this month as well.

Among the new offers this past week, 2025 Murrieta (Calif.) Valley star quarterback Bear Bachmeier is a really impressive football player. He went in depth on this recent offer, which is a big one for him and his family.

The Irish staff has had some notable success at Concord (Calif.) De La Salle over the years, including former star pass rusher Isaiah Foskey and 2023 tight end signee Cooper Flanagan. Notre Dame also has their eyes on 2025 defensive lineman Matthew Johnson, who is very intrigued about the program early on.

Speaking of talented pass rushers, Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy standout London Merritt is a player that Notre Dame remains in contact with. There is a good chance that Merritt could be making the trip to South Bend for the first time this fall.

There may not be a more talented safety on the board than Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor star athlete JaDon Blair. He is set to make his first trip to campus later this month, with Notre Dame really prioritizing him so far.

Notre Dame has some nice early traction with 2025 Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s athlete Anthony Sacca, who the team sees as a rover in their system. The Irish has a nice little connection to Sacca, which should help big time.

SEASON PREVIEWS

As we move closer and closer to the 2023 season beginning, some Notre Dame commits are also gearing up for big years. The future of Irish football will be well represented this season.

That includes 2025 tight end commit Nate Roberts, who is arguably the top tight end in the 2025 recruiting class. He has one major goal, defend Washington’s state championship.

2024 linebacker commit Teddy Rezac also has championships on his mind. He will be pushing for the third of his career.

In terms of production, there aren’t many better than 2024 defensive tackle Sean Sevillano. The Canadian is looking to continue the program’s impact in the area.

NEW OFFERS

Here are the two newest offers for Notre Dame. That includes 2024 pass catcher Logan Saldate, who committed to the Fighting Irish on Friday.

QB Bear Bachmeier (2025) - Murrieta (Calif.) Valley

WR Logan Saldate - Salinas (Calif.) Palma
