Can Ohio State Football Claim Joe Burrow? The Quarterback Weighs In Before Facing Former Buckeye CJ Stroud

Burrow made his college football mark at LSU.

CINCINNATI — A pair of former Ohio State Buckeyes collide this weekend as Joe Burrow and Texans rookie phenom quarterback CJ Stroud lead their teams into Sunday's game.

Stroud is one of the best quarterbacks to come out of Ohio State...Since Joe Burrow—depending on who you ask. Burrow attended Ohio State from 2015-18 before playing two seasons at LSU.

"I don't know you'll have to ask them," Burrow said about whether Ohio State should claim him. "I always say, 'I went to school at Ohio State and played football at LSU.' That's how I think about it."

Either way, one quarterback gets bragging rights this weekend, as Burrow carries a profound respect for Stroud into the contest.

"He's playing really well," Burrow said. "It's always exciting when you got guys that come into the league and play well. I know CJ, know the kind of guy he is. It doesn't surprise me that he's playing as well as he is. I know he's going to continue to work as hard as he can to maintain that success."
