Don't Overreact to Joe Burrow Wearing Brace on Throwing Hand Ahead of Thursday Night Football

Burrow appeared to be wearing a brace on his right hand on Wednesday evening.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bengals landed in Baltimore on Wednesday evening ahead of their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Ravens.

Joe Burrow was spotted with what appeared to be a brace on his throwing hand.

The sight of him wearing anything ahead of the game has some wondering if Burrow is dealing with an injury

Thursday night games are tough. The Bengals lost to the Texans roughly 72 hours prior to landing in Baltimore on Wednesday for the game.

There's no doubt Burrow was still sore from Week 10 contest on Tuesday when he spoke to the media.

"Sore, but you’re sore every Tuesday," Burrow said. "Usually by Thursday, you’re starting to feel pretty good. Got to work hard to get your body right the next two days."

Burrow and virtually every guy on the Bengals' roster is dealing with different aches and pains this time of year. The 26-year-old wasn't on the injury report this week for a reason.

That doesn't mean the Bengals are hiding an injury. NFL players wear braces, sleeves and other devices all the time. Guys are trying to recover as quickly as possible.

He may be sore. That's normal. It's the middle of the week.

If anything, this shows the downside to Thursday Night Football. Not just for the Bengals, but for all 32 NFL teams.

Burrow has played through plenty of aches and pains over his four seasons that the media and the public never knew about.

His hand might be sore. Maybe he's dealing with a wrist injury. It's unclear, but it is something that we should monitor on Thursday night.

Expectations are high for Burrow and they should be. Thursday's game is a must-win for the Bengals if they plan on winning the AFC North for a third-straight season.
