Browns Backup QB Joshua Dobbs Reveals why he Came Back to Cleveland
Joshua Dobbs is back where he started the season for the Cleveland Browns last year, as the backup quarterback. Dobbs joined Baskin & Phelps to talk about why he chose Cleveland, as well as an outlook on the offense.
Dobbs revealed that he was in negations with multiple teams but the Browns stood out. The former Tennessee standout said he is comfortable with the coaches in Cleveland and he likes the scheme fit.
Dobbs believes that both he and starting quarterback Deshaun Watson will benefit from their first year in the offense last season.
"I think it's going to be a big jump this year and I'm really excited to see it," Dobbs stated.
Dobbs revealed that he knows Watson well, they're both from Atlanta and have known each other since high school. That stuff goes a long way with the chemistry in the QB room.
After many thought that Kellen Mond would rise to be the backup quarterback for the Browns this season, Dobbs signed a fully guaranteed deal with the Browns to eliminate that possibility unless an injury came about.
Cleveland has a smart backup quarterback that is capable with his arm and legs if he needs to be thrown out there. The Browns quarterback room is certainly better off with a guy like Dobbs in it.
