CINCINNATI — The Milwaukee Brewers are trading Cy Young Award winner and 3-time All-Star Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Joey Ortiz and D.L. Hall are going to Milwaukee in the deal.

This is a blockbuster trade for the Orioles, who were in the market for pitching help.

The Brewers are trying to maximize Burnes' value. He's in the last year of his contract and will become a free agent next offseason. Milwaukee knew they weren't going to sign him to a long-term deal, so they decided to trade him now.

The Brewers won the division last year, but the National League Central appears to be wide open for the Reds following Milwaukee's decision to trade their ace.
