Cincinnati Reds Crush San Francisco Giants 19-11
The Reds beat the Giants 19-11 on Wednesday afternoon.
Cincinnati got off to a quick start when Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Stuart Fairchild, and Nick Martini all hit singles to score the first run of the game.
Mike Ford and Tony Kemp both hit home runs to give Cincinnati an even bigger lead.
Encarnacion-Strand hit a two-run home run and Fairchild also came through with a two-run homer.
Frankie Montas didn’t have a great outing. He gave up five hits, four runs, and two home runs in three innings.
The biggest moment of the game came from Luke Maile. Maile hit the Reds' first grand slam of spring training. It was his second home run this spring and Cincinnati's fifth on the day.
The Reds did give up six runs in the first seven innings, but the offense stepped up to keep the game out of reach.
The Reds play the Rangers on Thursday in MLB's Spring Breakout series. Rhett Lowder will get the stas part of the spring breakout against the Rangers which will be headlined by Rhett Lowder.
