Cincinnati Reds Top Prospects Invited To Big League Spring Training
The Reds have plenty of top prospects set to hit the stage in Goodyear for big league spring training. That includes all five players that made the MLB Pipeline Top 100.
According to Mark Sheldon, Noelvi Marte, Rhett Lowder, Edwin Arroyo, Connor Phillips and Chase Petty will participate.
Marte is a familiar name as he was called up to the big leagues last August. He hit three home runs and had 15 RBI in 114 at-bats. He's the only player on this list that will definitely make the Opening Day roster.
Lowder was the seventh overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. He played for Wake Forest and was phenomenal putting up a 15-0 record. He posted an 1.87 ERA for the Demon Deacons.
Arroyo is a shortstop prospect that will be attending his first big league camp as a non-roster member. The 20-year-old prospect made it to Double-A last season and will continue to push closer toward the big leagues.
Phillips is hoping to push for a spot, but could start in Triple-A. He made five starts for the Reds last season, finishing with a 6.97 ERA in 20 2/3 innings.
Petty is another member of the top 100. He made it to Double-A last season. He didn't give up any earned runs in eight innings for the Lookouts. He throws in the high-90s and should be another piece of the puzzle for the Reds moving forward.
