Cincinnati Reds Rally To Beat Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5

The Reds rallied on Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

The Reds scored three runs in the ninth inning to beat the Diamondbacks 7-5 on Saturday in Arizona. 

Cincinnati got off to a quick start when TJ Friedl reached on a fielding error. He advanced to third following a single by Spencer Steer. He stole home to give the Reds a 1-0 lead in the first inning

Reds starter Andrew Abbott struggled early, giving up three hits and one run in the first. He gave up two more runs in the second, as Arizona took a 3-1 lead.

Luke Maile opened up the fourth inning with a double. Tony Kemp singled to cut into the Diamondbacks' lead. 

Abbott was pulled out of the game after giving up a single to open up the fourth. His final stat line was three innings, seven hits, five strikeouts, three runs, and one walk. It wasn't the best day for the second-year pitcher. 

Braxton Roxby replaced him, finishing with one strikeout. He didn't allow a hit in one inning. 

Maile singled and then Nick Martini hit a go-ahead two-run homer to give the Reds a 4-3 lead.  

The Diamondbacks scored two runs off of Lucas Sims to retake the lead in the eighth inning. 

The Reds couldn't be denied in the ninth. Miguel Hernandez hit a one-out single. Quincy McAfee also singled. Hector Rodriguez double to tie the game and Jack Rogers hit a two-run single to give Cincinnati the lead. Tejay Antone pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth to secure the win.
