Frankie Montas Shares Positive Health Update After Signing Contract With Reds
CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Reds signed right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas to a one-year deal with a mutual option for the 2025 in hopes of stabilizing their starting rotation.
Montas, 30, only made one start last season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Not only does it sound like he's fully recovered, but he plans on impressing Reds' brass when he shows up for spring training.
"I feel pretty good. One of the things I was excited [about] was this offseason is I was finally going to have a healthy offseason," Montas said on MLB Network. "Being able to work on my stuff. I'm throwing sides already. I wanna be able to show up in spring training and show the Reds what I can do and what they got. It's been an exciting offseason."
Montas joins a rotation that includes Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo and Graham Ashcraft. Watch the entire interview below:
