CINCINNATI — Reds infielder Matt McLain will miss the next 5-7 days after suffering an oblique injury in Goodyear this week.

It's unrelated to a similar injury he had last season. The 24-year-old underwent a MRI that revealed nothing.

Reds manager told reporters that the MRI was "great news."

McLain posted a .290/.357/.507 slash line in 89 games last season, finishing with 16 home runs and 50 RBI.

Hopefully he can heal over the next week or two and be 100% long before the regular season starts.
