Tee Higgins 'Itching to Play' As Rib Recovery Progresses

Higgins is questionable heading into Sunday's game.

CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is "itching" to play this Sunday after missing his first game of the season due to a broken rib.

Higgins confirmed it's just about pain tolerance as he'll likely deal with the the ailment until he can fully heal in the offseason.

"Itching to play, but man, guys went out there last week and handled business," Higgins said on Thursday. "I couldn't be more proud. Whenever I saw things they come on the sideline, I relay to them what I saw, and it was very helpful."

Higgins acted "like a secondary receiver coach" in the desert, but he wants his normal role in the jungle this week.

"You kind of become like a secondary receivers coach," Higgins said. "Even though I'm not in the box, I'm on the field. I know the game plan. So I see what a defense is in that maybe Ja'Marr (Chase), Tyler (Boyd), or Andrei (Iosivas) didn't see and just relayed it to them."
