CINCINNATI — The Bengals are expected to sign quarterback Drew Plitt to the practice squad according to WLWT's Olivia Ray.

The move makes sense after star quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury against the Ravens on Thursday night.

Jake Browning will start for the Bengals and AJ McCarron will be his backup. The Bengals will likely sign McCarron to the 53-man roster once they put Burrow on injured reserve.

"That’s a conversation we will have with Duke and the staff," head coach Zac Taylor said on Friday when asked about adding a third quarterback. "Just to take some throws off of those guys as you are doing scout team work and routes on air."

Plitt, 25, spent training camp with the team in 2022 when Burrow was recovering from an appendectomy.

Plitt played for the Arlington Renegades in the XFL following his preseason stint on the Bengals' roster. He suffered a knee injury in April, but his fully recovered from the injury.
