There was, once again, a lot of recruiting news to get caught up on from this past week. Notre Dame is riding a lot of momentum in the recruiting world, including a recent commitment and a lot of positive buzz.

Let’s recap all of the recruiting news you may have missed.

RECRUITING NEWS

Notre Dame received a big time commitment on Saturday when 2025 Green Bay (Wisc.) Notre Dame De La Baie Academy tight end James Flanigan opted for the Irish over offers from Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn State among several others. According to Flanigan’s head coach Mike Rader, Notre Dame is getting a “great one.”

I went to the film to verify how talented Flanigan is. Spoiler alert: he’s very, very good.

It should be no surprise that this commitment came after a big visit to campus last weekend for Notre Dame’s game against USC. Flanigan recapped that most recent trip.

RECRUIT INTERVIEWS

For the millionth time (yes, it’s hyperbole), 2024 wide receiver commit Cam Williams returned to campus. Every time improves his bond with the Irish staff that much more.

Notre Dame received a massive commitment last month from 2024 Massachusetts offensive tackle Guerby Lambert, who is arguably the most talented player at his position. I went into his film, breaking down the physical gifts he brings to the table.

Quietly Notre Dame has done an impressive job recruiting 2025 Florida cornerback Dallas Golden, who is a player that the staff really wants. Golden continues to be very high on the Irish following that trip.

In-state 2025 defensive end Damien Shanklin is one of the bigger risers at the position in the class. Notre Dame impressed him during his first gameday experience, showing all that they can offer.

For the first time in over a year, 2025 Florida pass catcher Koby Howard returned to South Bend last weekend. He was met with an electric atmosphere, and massive victory on gameday.

There has been no question that 2025 Arizona cornerback Cree Thomas is a player that Notre Dame has liked for some time. Following another great trip, Thomas could be getting closer to making a decision.

Since committing during the Ohio State game a few weeks ago, 2025 Alabama pass rusher CJ May has quickly become a very important recruiter for Notre Dame. He spent a large portion of his most recent visit selling to other prospective recruits on campus.

Heading into the USC game, it was anticipated that 2025 Kansas star tight end Linkon Cure could be added to the tight end board for the Irish. That indeed happened during the visit, really capping off an amazing experience.

For the second time, Texas pass catcher Daylan McCutcheon visited Notre Dame last weekend. The program continues to impress.

Even though Notre Dame has two running backs committed in the 2025 recruiting class, they are still pursuing Louisiana star James Simon. The talented runner is fresh off of a fantastic first trip to South Bend last weekend.

WEEKEND IN REVIEW

Notre Dame is on a bye week but there is still plenty of recruiting news to keep a close eye on. There were several key Irish targets who made the trips to various destinations this week. Here is who visited where.

There was also a long list of Notre Dame commits who were in action over the last few days. It began on Thursday night with three recruits, and extended to the next couple of days. It was a busy, and entertaining weekend of high school football.

On Sunday, I recapped the top performances from those commits. The future of Notre Dame football was once again on full display.

On Friday, former Irish star running back CJ Prosise joined the Notre Dame Recruiting Hour. Prosise went in depth on his recruitment when he came out of Woodberry Forest, as well as discussing some of the key differences in recruiting now.
